To Premier John Horgan,
In the last election, you ran on a platform of making life more affordable for British Columbians. But by scrapping fair, open tendering, and handing over a monopoly on taxpayer-funded construction to the BC Building Trades Unions, you are unnecessarily driving up costs on taxpayers.
B.C. deserves open, transparent bidding, where the best bid is selected no matter how their workforce organizes itself. If your friends in the unions can’t compete for public work, it’s up to them to adapt, not for you to tilt the playing field in their favour. Please scrap your plans to create a union monopoly. #Get2Yes on restoring fair and open bidding to B.C.
